Resumen
Virtual Education provides the educational process with tools that encourage students to develop meaningful learning. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact that the implementation of Virtual Education has in the process of learning undergraduate students in health area programs, based on the review of studies reported in the literature from 2004 to the date, analyzing the evolution it has had, its current status and contributions in the educational methodology; as well as identify the advantages, disadvantages and limitations of the use of technology. This research corresponds to a descriptive monograph, whose population and sample refers to a narrative review with selection of academic articles at convenience, with a sample size of 40. The analysis of the information collected from these publications reveals that the implementation of virtual education showed an improvement in learning of 70% of the 40 studies evaluated; ; and when broken down by undergraduate studies, a percentage of improvement of 90.9% is observed in medicine, in dentistry of 66.6% and in nursing of 85.7%, and that most authors, even in studies that did not report a statistically significant difference in favor of virtual education, they recommend the incorporation of virtual education in the undergraduate careers of the health area, in any of its 3 modalities, either as a unique way to educate in a subject or subject, or as a complement in B -Learning. This concluded that there was a considerable impact with the use of technologies, which translates into meaningful learning and performance achievement.
