This research in computer science applied to education was developed with the primary objective of explaining how learning takes place in a process of teaching the social sciences, on the theme of the great Colombia. Linking technology in class, especially with the use of the smartphone and the Edmodo educational platform. The research design was of the qualitative type with the method of educational ethnography in the context of the Twenty-July Industrial Technical Educational Institution, located in commune 4 of the city of Cali, for grade 9-3 in the year 2018 The latter allowed to interact and approach the experience of the educational process of the students, performing; field work from the observation of each of the sessions determined in the planning of the didactic sequence, completing the analysis of information from questionnaires and selective interviews. One of the results found in this study related that the work of couples of students, in the educational process, marked by the socio-historical perspective of the near development zone, in addition to facilitating the learning process, also created better environments for it, notably improving group relationships 9-3. Finally, it is determined that the learning process in the theme of the great Colombia was given from four mediations of the socio-historical type that related the four subcategories found in the information analysis, which were: educational orientation, educational planning, curricular activities and educational technology.
