Anxiety is considered a negative emotional attitude. Anxiety is triggered by some risky situation or alarm, both in self-esteem and in physical state, in the face of adverse events or uncertainty, in addition to the possibility of failure or loss. A bad experience during a past dental treatment may be enough for the patient avoid attending the dentist. Even if you consider it necessary, you will only facing the extreme situation that leaves no alternative, resulting in a alteration of the patient's behavior when attending the dental office, which results in The little collaboration of this. Fear can increase to the point of abandoning everything treatment, be it mild or complicated. An anxious patient makes treatment difficult, because usually amplify both symptoms and pain sensations, discomfort to the sounds of the piece of high and low speed, smells and flavors, does not cooperate and, as a result, both (patient and professional) end up stressed and dissatisfied, so the restoration of oral health. This research work aims to determine the prevalence of anxiety Dental in adults at the Dental Clinic of the Cooperative University of Colombia of Pasto. For the present study, the level of dental anxiety was measured at 400 patients, through surveys that were filled out by themselves, and with a questionnaire validated as the Corah Scale of Modified Dental Anxiety. The Results indicated that there is moderate to severe anxiety in 76.2%. The characteristics where a higher level was presented was in an age range between 25-34 years, being in stratum 3 and living in an urban area, while in high anxiety Having had a negative experience between 6-9 years.
