Resumen
The brachycephalic canines are characterized by an early ankylosis in the epiphyseal cartilage of the skull that leads to chondrodysplasia of the longitudinal axis, while the mesocéfalos have intermediate dimensions and the head is not completely cubed; therefore, the objective of this work was to compare cardiac waves, physiological and hemodynamic constants in brachycephalic and mesocephalic dogs in the municipality of Arauca. The study was done with 8 canines in adulthood, evaluating their heart rate, respiratory rate and mean arterial pressure by means of the multiparameter and finally the electrocardiographic assessment was performed both at rest and in exercise. It was concluded that the brachycephalic canines tend to suffer from hypertension (89.4 PAM ± 5) in a normal state and their heart rates vary in the resting state (131.2 pul / min ± 10) and the mesocéfalos (123.6 pul / min ± 28.9.); in the state of excitation the mesocéfalos tend to increase their pulsations considerably (183.3 pul / min ± 13.3) in comparison to the brachycephalic (153.6 pul / min ± 18.1) that suffer from anatomical abnormalities.
