The purpose of this review is to identify the impact generated by the job loss at the time of reaching the pension age, more specifically in adults between 55 and 68 years of age, to fulfill this objective a qualitative investigation is proposed since In this way, we can identify in a subjective way the impact that can be experienced at this stage if it is not properly managed. It is of great importance to keep in mind that work is vital for every human being, determines many aspects of his life, is a source of motivation, personal satisfaction, sense of belonging and allows stability in the different areas of adjustment (Domínguez, 2014) Although retirement is not a universal or cross-cultural phenomenon, in our society, retirement constitutes an important change in the life cycle because it modifies our structure of functions, our habits, the organization of our daily life and has an intense impact on our sense of effectiveness and of personal skills (Galvanovskis and Villar, 2000).
