This is a systematic analysis of literature on suicide in young people and psychological impact on the family, it aims to investigate the phenomenon of youth suicide, allowing the identification of environmental factors that are associated with suicidal behavior and the psychological impact that is generated in the family members of the young man who performed the suicidal behavior. This investigation arises as a necessity, because suicide is the second cause of death in the age group of 15 to 29 years. Where the self-inflicted lesions begin to take on greater relevance, the ages between 16 and 19 being the highest risk. Affecting each member of the family system. To achieve the objective of this analysis, literature, both Latin American and Spanish, was compiled and analyzed. It was found that, in Colombia, suicide in young people increased by 15.25% with 276 registered cases. Allowing at the same time to visualize the need to investigate more on the subject and generate preventive campaigns, not only in order to increase protection factors for the reduction of suicidal behaviors, but also, to anticipate processes of attention to the family members or caregivers of the young person who He performed the suicidal behavior.
