Resumen
The Solidarity Economy, as a proposal for a comprehensive solution, taking into account all aspects and approaches that make up and affect society, seeks to exercise tools and build foundations that strengthen the currents of solidarity thinking, in pursuit of people and thus, achieve development sustainable in accordance with the principles of cooperativism, support, social responsibility, highlighting the individual as an important part of general development; also, contributing to the creation of optimal conditions and spaces for the execution and materialization of projects and goals; hence the commitment to the community and its environment arises. This is how the Solidarity Economy becomes a prominent and very promising economic system for society as a whole, it is based on tolerance, freedom, transparency, equality and the exit to a better and more economically distributed world. This system understands the economy based on values of equity, cooperation, commitment to the environment, that allow to glimpse socio-cultural alternatives, from its fair trade initiatives, ethical finance, solidarity services and sustainability initiatives (General Secretary of the Senate , Colombian Congress, Law 454 of 1998, 2013). Some of the solidarity principles are the spirit of solidarity, cooperation, participation and mutual help; cooperation mechanisms that have primacy over the means of production; democratic, participatory, self-management and entrepreneurial administration; voluntary, responsible and open membership; associative and solidarity ownership over the means of production (Article 4, Law 454 of 1998); which are similar to those of the Cooperative University of Colombia.
