This research was carried out with the objective of describing social skills in a group of 20 students between the ages of 9 and 10 belonging to the Mercedes Nariño Female High School in Bogotá, for the analysis four categories of analysis were developed, which are, share, help others, avoid problems with others and resolve conflicts. The methodology used was qualitative, where the participant observation and semi-structured interviews were used as instruments to collect the information; The procedure with the students was to develop a series of activities in order to observe their social skills in their development. At the end of the activities, the analysis was generated and it was observed that the students had strengths in the social ability to help others; while, in the categories of sharing, avoiding problems with others and resolving conflicts, weaknesses in social skills were evident. This research allowed describing the social skills of the participants to suggest in which strategies for strengthening and improvement should be generated.
