Resumen
The duel is defined by Consuegra (2010) as an emotional response of human beings, after the death of a loved one; Vargas (2003) refers to the loss of a family member and / or a loved one with its psycho-affective consequences, its external manifestations, rituals and the evolutionary psychological process consecutive to the loss. However, Freud (1917), extends the concept of the previous authors and includes, in addition to the loss of a loved one, “an equivalent abstraction” (p. 2009), which has a set of changes in behavior, to Freud qualifies as deviant, taking into account that the lost object symbolizes someone or something significant that made up a part of the self, therefore, this is a normal process, but it can become the object of clinical care (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders -DSM-IV, 1995), when it exceeds the coping resources of the person. Under Freud's logic, and from Bowlby's attachment theory, in which it is postulated that the child's bond with the mother serves as a foundation for all affective relationships during his life (Moneta, 2014), which in the case of the separation of their father or mother also means a grieving process, because there is a loss in between (Cebodevilla, 2007). In this way, and from the different theoretical positions it can be observed that the common element when talking about grief is related to the loss (Pangrazzi, 2005), whether of a loved one, of an object or a psychosocial abstraction as the case of divorce or similar links.
