Resumen
This project called Human Ecology, seeks to promote and implement the values of protection, love and care of the environment and therefore of the most defenseless creatures that exist in it; children, who are more susceptible to accidents and therefore, trauma, that is, one of the main causes of death in children over one year of age, is really a public health problem that is increasing given the living conditions of Postmodernity, this includes traffic accidents, but also to child abuse, neglect, etc. This happens, because children have physical-anatomical conditions that differentiate it from the adult. In Colombia, one in three consultations occurs due to craniocerebral trauma, every year 22,000 people die in our country. This of course, not only concerns the child, but also his family, the state and of course the health systems. During the year, in figures up to May 30, 2015 (Source: DANE - Vital Statistics), 522 children between 1 and 9 years have died in the national territory, due to trauma and 20% of these, are related to recurrent accidents, which implies that they could have been victims of child abuse or even parental neglect, In Colombia according to 90th statistical data (Epidemiology of pediatric trauma in Medellin, Colombia 19921996 Mario Alberto Correa) the behavior was very similar to What was happening in the rest of the world, however to think that there is no concise data regarding current world statistics, it is clear that these figures have been increasing. There are physiological and anatomical differences of children with respect to adults, so the child is not a small adult. For example, bleeding or diarrhea in children can generate dehydration much faster and can even generate a much more aggressive hypovolemic state. If we compare the body of a child with that of an adult, children are more stubborn in relation to the body, therefore the balance axis is different and this facilitates falls and therefore death, likewise the neck is shorter and not very muscular, this facilitates spinal-medullary trauma and spinal injuries, we also found that the airway of children has a much smaller diameter and can easily be obstructed by the tongue quickly causing hypoxia. As for the skeleton, it is also different, this means that children's fractures are more difficult to identify and even tend to underestimate the severity of the injury, thinking that the energy that hit them was less severe than it was in In reality, their body surface area is larger, which means that a similar stroke covers more body space in a child than in an adult, this also makes them more susceptible to dismemberment and hypothermia, so the child deteriorates much faster and with minor symptoms, compared to an adult.
