Resumen
This study aims to understand the exercise of citizenship in a group of street inhabitants of the city of Bogotá. The sample consisted of 5 people in the process of rehabilitation at the CDPI Integral Development Center with whom a life story was conducted as a data collection instrument and subsequently a semi-structured interview was applied. Fundamentally, the results analyzed the conceptions of the exercise of citizenship, their relationship with society and their rights to equality and life. On the other hand, it was shown that one of the common characteristics of this population is that they come from disintegrated homes that led them to consumption and habitability behaviors in the street. Finally, a reflection is offered on the need to generate a social policy that contemplates the integral rehabilitation of these people, articulating both the public and private sectors.
