It is the obligation of companies to design strategies to compete in a changing and dynamic market that require them to adapt to these changes. Such is the case of microenterprises in the telecommunications sector. In this sense, the present study is developed, which aims to design a strategy that highlights the importance of competitiveness within microenterprises in the telecommunications sector of the Santa Marta district. This study was based on authors such as Porter (2008), Quinn (1977), Ohmae (2004, p .6), Vega, A.; Flowers M.; Solís M. (2011) among others. The type of research was documentary, with non-experimental and rear-end design. As a result, it was found that microenterprises in the telecommunications sector of the Santa Marta district apply strategies that allow them to be competitive, such as differentiation, cost leadership and focus. It is concluded that it is necessary that microenterprises design growth strategies, cost leadership, differentiation, as well as innovation to be competitive.
