Resumen
This correlational investigation is based on determining the coping strategies most used by subjects in situations of deprivation of liberty who are convicted in the COMEB-ERON prison and prison complex. It is intended to find the correlation existing before and after the group intervention process and for this purpose the application of the “Coping Modes Scale” instrument (Lázarus and Folkman, 1984) was carried out. The population sample is made up of 22 inmates in middle adulthood, where coping and adaptation capacity was observed, identifying the coping tools used by inmates. It is necessary to know their feelings, ideas and behaviors and how they affect the emotional and motivational processes of these people who are isolated from their social and family context and what are the secondary effects of this isolation that causes stressful situations that alter their behavior. It was expected that, with the application of the psychotherapeutic workshops, some sub-scales of coping strategies would be found to undergo substantial changes in the application criteria, while other sub-scales would remain with the same application criteria. In this way, the existing correlation in the application of coping strategies before and after the intervention with the group intervention workshops could be established.
