First, child abuse is addressed as one of the health problems current public, indicating their main types; negligence, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and some additional ones such as prenatal abuse, corruption, labor exploitation and Munchausen syndrome. The characteristics, implications and main models are identified Explanatory of the problem in childhood. Subsequently, the executive functions are conceptualized, conceptualized as interrelated and interdependent processes, which together act as a system integrated supervision, exercising control over more automatic cognitive processes, giving as a result, a proactive and goal-oriented behavior, (Arán and López, 2013; Barroso and León, 2002 & Lozano and Ostrosky, 2011). The processes associated with executive functions are indicated as they are, goal setting and planning, working or operational memory, flexibility Cognitive and inhibitory control. Indicating in the same way the consequences of the affectation or deficit of some of them and their implications at the cognitive level. Finally, in multiple studies and investigations, the existence of a relationship between the problem of abuse and executive functions, as they are conditions that involve the integrality of the individual, this documentary review mainly addresses the childhood, focusing on stressors, related to the presence of chronic abuse, alterations in planning, organization and decision making (Gavarrell, 2013), as well as effects on emotional regulation, its repercussions on school development and performance in adolescence and also in adult life.
