Resumen
The ascitic syndrome or pulmonary hypertension syndrome is the result of a series of physiological and metabolic alterations in chain, induced by the great growth speed of broiler chickens. It is characterized by affecting the broiler chicken and the heavy reproductive cock, from the second week of life, with maximum mortality at the fifth and sixth week. Clinically a progressive distension of the abdomen, cyanosis is observed and among the constant anatomopathological characteristics they stand out; cardiomegaly, hydropericardium, ascites and generalized venous congestion. For this reason, this work aims to determine the incidence and mortality caused by SA between the 4th and 6th week of production of broiler chick Ross AP and Cobb in a farm attached to the company Avidesa Mac Pollo S.A. The total population analyzed consisted of 126,790 fattening birds consisting of males and females of the Cobb line, males and females of the Ross 308 AP line, between the fourth and sixth week of life, identifying the individuals for symptoms compatible with the disease. and the ante mortem and post mortem findings. The initial group of analysis corresponded to lot 44, which presented a cumulative average mortality of 5.6%. The lots analyzed subsequently showed lower mortality rates, decreasing by 2.05%, which is related to the prevention and control measures developed and implemented in the POES designed as a complement to this work.
