Resumen
This article discusses the importance of technological contributions that has been developed for visually impaired population, through a survey of residents of Bogotá; the main factors that affect this population to make use of the new technologies were examined. To get the results of the article, the quantitative and inductive method was applied, by using a questionnaire that allows you to evaluate technological, social and educational issues in people with visual impairment. As stated “Quantitative data are those that are shown numerically, such as statistics, percentages. This implies that quantitative research asks specific questions and from the participants' answers (surveys), obtains numerical samples.” (Canas, 2018, p. 2). The results show that people in this condition require more attention from society, the government and the technologies, although there have been informatics developments, the disabled do not get to use them due to lack of training, incentive and social awareness. It is important to highlight the factors that have benefited people in these conditions, the actions that are currently being carried out to contribute to progress and favor human and technological development. Consequently, the support provided by the Colombian state through the “Ministerio de las TIC” to the institutions of people with visual disabilities identified, through different studies, will be identified. Finally, this article describes the processes and the importance of technological advances that efficiently contribute to the population with visual disabilities, the entities that help these people and the government support that carry out projects focused on this theme.
