Resumen
This document presents the characteristics of the labor competency models of Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. The word competence is in turn synonymous with skill, it also evokes images of mastery, skill and excellence, distinguishing between competence as achievement and skill (Attewell, 2009). Reviewing the evolution of the competition, it is concluded that the concept is understood as a category of analysis that has a universally accepted meaning within the work and organizational environment that is evolving towards an evaluation and improvement of competent personnel (Zuñiga, 2006). With this, it is found that the implementation of these models seeks to optimize people's competencies so that they are a contribution to organizations, their development and growth. The results are presented in a descriptive way trying to highlight the differences through the analysis (SWOT) Strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats), which allows to identify differences between the countries analyzed. Finding that the implementation of new labor competency models turns out to be positive and productive for the development and growth of organizations, new companies in different sectors, better trained and competent professionals, business leadership and economic growth, being the human resource a fundamental part of This improvement for the countries analyzed.
