The aging of the population is one of the most important demographic phenomena of the end of the century and will be the protagonist of the next one, since it will bring profound changes in the social, economic and cultural structures of the countries of the region. Objective: To identify the level of loneliness presented by the elderly of the San Francisco Javier de Piedecuesta geriatric home in the second semester of 2018. Methodology: Descriptive study with a systemic and subjective approach, non-probabilistic sampling, for convenience, consisting of 10 seniors who are in the geriatric home San Francisco Javier de Piedecuesta. The ESTE-R Scale was used, which measures the level of loneliness in the elderly. Results: It was found that the elderly of the geriatric home San Francisco Javier in Piedecuesta have a level of loneliness (MEDIUM). It is also evident that the most prevalent factor with a (HIGH) level of loneliness is the conjugal one. Conclusion: It was found that the factor with the greatest alteration was the conjugal with 90% of high solitude we can deduce that the lack of a loved one with whom to share his life interferes in this area of solitude since most of the interviewees meet singles
