Resumen
The educational system is increasingly faced with poor school performance and, as a consequence of this school failure, along with this, the lack of understanding or ignorance of these processes by teachers and families is evident; so formulated this problem, the research question arises: how through the strategy of the pedagogical route in the processes of attention and motivation, is the school performance of the eighth grade students affected? To answer this, the theoretical references are taken and the four categories of analysis are developed with their respective subcategories: emphasis is placed on the attention processes: selective, divided and maintenance; the motivation with the objectives of orientation towards the learning, the result, the avoidance and the social orientation, the scholastic performance that describes the scholastic failure and, finally, the pedagogical strategies with the subcategory of route. From the methodology of the research, the qualitative paradigm is approached, from the socio-critical approach with the type of participatory action research. The diagnosis is made through the application of questionnaires, interviews with teachers and parents. The construction of a route to strengthen attentional and motivational processes is proposed as a pedagogical intervention strategy; through the development of the research, the proposed objective was fulfilled: to strengthen the attention and motivation processes through the application of the pedagogical route “Sentipensando, connecting my hemispheres” to minimize the low performance of the eighth grade students of the Orlando Higuita Rojas school; this was evidenced in the results, where the simultaneous work and the linking of the two attention and motivation processes allowed to improve the academic performance in a significant way as described in the present investigation, within the scope of this, institutional doors were opened for the application of the route with other grades that show low performance and difficulties around the school climate.
