Resumen
This research is based on psychoanalytic theory and aims to investigate how family dynamics influence the onset of psychoactive substance use. We worked with seven institutionalized young people at the Luis Amigó Youth Orientation Center, ages fourteen to seventeen. The in-depth interview was taken as an instrument, understanding it as a conversation between equals, and not a formal exchange of questions and answers. The analysis of the interviews was carried out in the light of the theoretical framework, which was based mainly on Winnicot and Freud's theory. Among the various conclusions found during the analysis and discussion process, the most relevant is that the family does not directly influence, it is rather a facilitating element which allows the subject to identify with parents who have or have had similar consumption behaviors and delinquency which drives or facilitates the start of consumption.
