Resumen
Anxiety is an emotion that can deteriorate the life of the subjects from their social, psychological, occupational or existential sphere and can be considered as the fear learned to certain bodily sensations. This visceral and obstructive emotion appears when a sense of threat is perceived (Ayuso, 1988). Likewise, it is linked to situations of desperation where the voluntary capacity to act freely and direct its actions is lost. On the other hand, according to the American Psychiatric Association (1994), it defines agoraphobia as the "fear of being in places or situations from which it may be difficult or embarrassing to escape or in which help may not be available in the case of having a panic attack or panic-like symptoms. " Likewise, agoraphobia is usually a consequence of the panic crisis where, according to Bados (2005), the subject, not being able to explain why it happens, ends up associating the attacks with the current situation in which he finds himself and begins to avoid it In this regard, in order to address a clinical case where an anxiety disorder with agoraphobia has been determined as a diagnostic criterion, the therapeutic approach is made under cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and this has shown great efficacy in the treatment of psychological problems and disorders, which can be applied in limited times and offers the possibility of integrating with other areas of interdisciplinary treatment. For this reason, the purpose of the present work is to apply the techniques of this orientation in a clinical case and to explain widely how the applied tools can allow a correct psychotherapeutic intervention.
