Resumen
According to (SALCEDO, Adelaida, 2011) it is shown that the university dropout is evident from the first semesters of the race. There are several factors that affect students not continuing their professional studies, among them are intrinsic factors based on personal and extrinsic characteristics as the characteristics of the student's context. Through this research and identification of the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of students of the automotive mechanics night shift of the ECCI and with the analysis of these results, based on a cognitive behavioral approach, we want to recognize the importance of identifying and encouraging those motivational aspects of the students that take them in a first step to choose the type of career and thus be able to work on action plans so that they do not decay and continue motivated during their professional development process until they finish their studies. With this, to contribute to the decrease of the university dropout that is currently at such high levels. The benefit that this project will bring will be related to working directly in the field of action, with the students, and thus knowing directly from them the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations that intervene when choosing and continuing with their studies. This with the purpose of contributing in the identification of some of the factors that affect the student desertion of the students of the ECCI. For us it is highly significant to be able to address this problem, contribute and give continuity to this project in which the institution has worked for several years, since we consider it a subject of general and significant interest for the academic and family field.
