This Project arises from the need to work on Reading comprehension and the communication skills development of the students of the Confederación Brisas del diamante School, taking into account the low academic performance presented by students in the grade 401 in the different knowledge areas during the year 2019. Teachers show in their reports that there is a high percentage of students with a minimum level of reading comprehension, characterized by not retrieving explicit or implicit information in the content of the text and therefore present some absences in the communication skills development. From this diagnosis, an analysis was realized on the process of teacher qualification and its incidence against this situation. For that reason, from that formation, it is intended to implement a pedagogical strategy based on carranguera music, to improve the established abilities in the basic rights of learning and the micro-abilities of reading and listening, through different forms of teaching, for which elements are sought that offer cultural expression. This proposal will be developed from the qualitative paradigm, since from this point it will be able to explore the difficulties that the group presents taking into account the data collection, likewise a hermeneutical approach is reckoned with the population under study, the type of research it is descriptive, it will start from its own reality. The students who participated in the development of the pedagogical sequence were benefited with motivating and innovative activities, which made reading a space to recognize the skills that should be applied to the comprehension of musical texts.
