The main objective of this research is to design didactic strategies aimed at improving critical literacy as generic competences in the first semester students of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Montería, Córdoba. Therefore, a methodology of qualitative character is defined under the order of participatory action research (PAR) and from a socio-critical approach. Moreover, it is pretended to design some organizational phases which allows to research and gather relevant results in order to make accurate conclusions regarding the need to change and innovate teaching strategies, when improving reading and writing in students, because students not always work with those that are the most suitable, attractive and relevant, decreasing the interest and motivation in their performance. Thus, this research considers the need to recommend some relevant documents such as: texts, methodological tools and specific activities such as strategic routes.
