Equine reproduction is going through a transition between insemination and embryo transfer, the new techniques of assisted reproduction that in some countries begin to be commercialized with good results taking into account the health of the mare and the stallion. It is extremely important to understand the reproductive physiology of this species. In comparison with other domestic females being the seasonal poliestric equine. Mares can show delayed, right handed, prolonged estrus, segmented estrus, and silent ovulations. In order to obtain good fertility results it is necessary to know the physiology of the estrous cycle and how through assisted reproduction to be able to reestablish or assure that the cycles that are every 21 days on average, for this it is necessary to have control of the ovarian cycle, forcing studies cytological and biopsies with strictness, as well as its follow-up in the use of exogenous hormonal treatments, achieving regularization of ovulation and estrus throughout the year.
