Resumen
Taking into account the importance of conversational competence and social interaction in the Spanish as a foreign language classes, and in order to contribute to the elaboration of teaching materials for the ELE teaching that present Latin American and Colombian sociocultural characteristics in specific. This investigation has been carried out with the main objective of favoring the teaching of conversational competence in the teaching - learning process of ELE at level A2. To fulfill this purpose, a qualitative research of ethnographic nature was carried out through a documentary analysis that allowed identifying the characteristics, activities, exercises and fundamental elements for the elaboration of a conversation handbook. In the field of communicative competence, what has become known as "conversational competence" occupies a prominent place, being considered as the ability to produce the communicative activity, in this case: conversation. To participate in a conversation, in a natural way, it is necessary to have the cognitive capacity and the linguistic competence fundamental to produce and understand utterances. It is for this reason that aspects such as listening comprehension and oral production complement the conversational competence. However, in addition, it requires using the discursive and interactive capacity enough to cooperate and negotiate with other people in its construction. Thanks to the documentation of the aforementioned concepts and theories, a conversation manual was developed to provide ELE students with the necessary tools so that they are able to easily cope with real situations of daily life in real context conditions.
