This work is part of a documentary qualitative research, arises from the difficulty presented by some students when using mathematical modeling in context situations and aims to be a support for those interested in the development of contemporary theories for the teaching of equations linear with an unknown, supported in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). The results of this search were compiled and organized by the manager Mendeley, seeking to account for important theoretical contributions, significant experiences implemented, research advances in the subject, possible flaws or difficulties encountered, as well as the position of different authors who intend to investigate technology can influence the processes of teaching - learning of mathematics, without actually being the solution to the various difficulties presented by students when dealing with a specific topic.
