The purpose of this research was to investigate the labor competencies that determine the success of the workers who work in Cooperatives of Associated Work in the city of Bogotá. The participants in the study belonged to entities with more than 2 years of operation and through several structured interviews and a panel of experts, they reported both the problems that arise for the creation and permanence of this type of companies as well as the skills, basic knowledge and personality characteristics that are necessary to face the difficulties that are usually faced from the position of manager and worker. The study identifies the labor competencies required by this type of officials and proposes elements that could be taken into account to train them in order to have a positive impact on the permanence and success of the associated work cooperatives.
