Resumen
The home of the Veracruz girl is an educational institution, whose mission is to train children in a family atmosphere and with Catholic principles. Based on this, a project was carried out, which aimed to modify the patterns and concepts of coexistence, these being the problem variables identified and proposed by the coordinator and sister of the community in charge of the internal girls, under the norms and ideals with those that are worked in the institution. For the development of this, psychological intervention strategies were implemented in order to promote an integral development, which focuses on the individual as part of a group. Social skills are defined as the need to increase the expressiveness of individuals according to Wolpe (1958), the ability to execute an exchange behavior with favorable results. Based on the above, it is clear that the development of adequate social skills strengthens and contributes to the training of girls in the home. This was carried out with the application of workshops and recreational activities that encourage girls to become aware and reevaluate appropriate behaviors, in relation to coexistence in the boarding school.
