The objective of this research was to develop a state of the art on the concepts of subjective or psychological well-being and happiness, and to establish its relationship with positive mental health, when accounting for the various conceptions and associated factors. For this, 22 documents were reviewed through the strategy of analytical summaries. From this review, subjective well-being is considered the assessment that the individual makes of his / her own quality of life in positive and negative terms, from which he / she evaluates the goals and the achievements reached in the course of his / her life, and establishes a state emotional satisfaction with what he has done. As for happiness, it is defined as the small moments that exist in the different stages of life; they are accompanied by the motivation of the desire and search for satisfaction depending on the ends and profits that they want to make, which largely relates to the interior of the person and the environment that surrounds them. It can be deduced from the review of the state of the art, that subjective well-being and happiness are related to mental health in its four major dimensions: in the intrapersonal, to the extent that internal aspects of the human being are used to make facing situations that generate stress; in the relational, when looking for social support and in constant contact with other people, to reduce the stress of stressful situations; in the projective dimension, taking into account the objectives set out in the life project and making decisions effectively; and in quality of life and social context, when pondering these circumstances in the performance
