Objective: To relate the risk factors (according to modified Brathall) with the socioeconomic level and the schooling of the parents in children from 3 to 5 years old in the Colegio Liceo Nueva Colombia of the Quinta de Bogotá locality, 2019. Materials and methods: Descriptive study correlational, the test sample was 35 children, with prior consent of the parents and / or guardians, variables were evaluated socioeconomic level, degree of schooling of parents and / or guardians and the total risk ceo caries according to modified Brathall where it is evaluated (Sliness and loe plaque index, plaque retention due to local and / or systemic factors, caries experience, use of cream, dental access) compared to the ceo index, the information obtained was analyzed using the minitab® 2017 statistical software. Results: The prevalence of caries according to ICDAS II for the sample was 83%. The prevalence of caries according to the ceo-modified for the 35 children is of 4.37%. 34% of boys and girls had a high risk for dental caries according to modified Brathall. Conclusions: The most influential risk factors were bacterial plaque accumulation, carbohydrate consumption per day, the use of fluoride toothpaste is the protection factor found in the study. It is of great importance to influence in a timely manner, through the implementation of programs, strategies, services and / or promotion and prevention projects aimed at parents, caregivers, guardians and children.
