The current research was carried out at the Educational Institution Escuela Normal Superior Santa Teresita of Sopetrán in the ninth grade. This is based on the classroom experiences carried out in the course of the training process of the Bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science from the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Its general objective is to strengthen the factorization processes of trinomials quadratics making use of geometric algebra as a teaching resource, through this material it is possible to solve areas of geometric figures (square and rectangle) establishing a relationship between the concept of area and that of factoring. It is taken as the basis for the design of a didactic unit based on the learning cycle of Jorba and Sanmartí (1996), which is developed in four phases, exploration where the knowledge that the students have is characterized, the introduction and structuring phase where the pedagogical strategy of geometric algebra is implemented and the application phase where the results obtained are evaluated. It is aimed at the characterization of quadratic trinomials (square trinomial perfect, trinomial form and trinomial form) as a strategy in the classroom, through which is intended to strengthen the process of factoring these algebraic expressions.
