Resumen
Coexistence is a harmonious relationship between people who live together, to live in harmony with others. Coexistence is to live in the company. Coexistence is both live action and the relationship between those who live. (Giménez, 2005,p.8). The coexistence account factors such as the recognition of difference, establishing agreements, common standards, conflict resolution, solidarity, group values, which allow coexistence understand whether or not present in the social relations of a given community. As such research arose with the aim of describing the meanings of the coexistence that have built a group of five (5) children aged 8 to 10 years I Palmas neighborhood in relation to children of Settling (commune 18, of the city of Cali) This research was conducted from a descriptive qualitative approach with an ethnographic method. Selected instruments for data collection were semi-structured interviews, participant observation and field notes. Among the findings showed that these children have built the meanings of living according to their own expertise, in relation to various situations and social dynamics, economic, organizational, present in the context. Thus, Bruner (1998) suggests that children entering meanings according to these develop contact with other people and these relations are beginning to take shape when they involve different types of activities in which children participate.
