This research aimed to understand how cultural models are transformed from being a woman in four women who assume leadership of his home, the permanent absence of the father of her children. It was held in the village sector jets La Cruz, 54 of the city municipality of Cali. For the study was taken as a conceptual framework Cultural Psychology, from a constructivist paradigm and ethnographic methodology to ensure understanding of the social and cultural constructions made by these women, from the voice and life experiences of the protagonists. It was thus found that women must transform the cultural model in which they were enrolled during their childhood and adolescence, and from new femininities reorganize their role and responsibilities as women, in order to ensure the economic livelihood of your home. In conclusion, as evidenced in the results, each of these four women is at different stages in the process of transformation of the cultural model of womanhood, for which three states are recognized in these women, an initial state: where is still wanting the traditional model, a mean state: where the woman is in a transit from traditional to alternative model of womanhood and the final state: where evidence independent and autonomous woman.
