Resumen
The objective of the research is to evaluate the understanding and experiences of the students of the systems engineering and industrial engineering faculties of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia - Bogotá branch, of their mental health from a positive perspective, taking into account four dimensions, the intrapersonal, relational, projective and quality of life and context. For this purpose, 40 students of systems engineering and 47 students of Industrial Engineering were given an instrument of self-registration, in such a way that it exceeded the stipulated minimum, from the theory of large numbers. The positive mental health scale consists of 117 items, with a five-dimensional likert type response, which was prepared by the Posada, Peralta, Perdomo and Romero studies (2007), and subsequently adjusted and reviewed by the participant group. In the consolidation of the results it was possible to know that the students of the two faculties have a better perception in the interpersonal dimension as well as the projective dimension; in the projective dimension, its greatest impact in the category belonging to achievement is highlighted; unlike the relational and quality of life dimensions, which acquired the most deficient perception for the students of the two faculties, in relation to the quality of life dimension, it can be said that the best perceived categories were health and personal satisfaction, in the dimension relational the category of family relationships was the most important according to the instrument.
