Resumen
This research approaches on the Human Management role in the generation and development of the Manufacturing Sector Organizations Innovation in Popayán city. A mixed approach was used for data collection where quantitative and qualitative techniques are joint, with a semi structured interview that allowed qualitative information collection in terms of human management and innovation conception in those who are responsible of the human management area and those who are in charge of the organization’s innovation processes, in the other hand, a questionnaire for quantitative information collection related to the two study variables for some organization collaborators. This research design is non-experimental, the field study is exploratory and explicative, and it is taken as a total sample of two organizations. With the study, it is identified that human management from the perspective of those who are in charge of the area, is still immerse in personal management practices, conceived as a support area inside the organization, this situation does not allow to visualize it in an strategic way for generating an added value and for establishing sustainable competitive advantage sources, which somehow, innovation development and promotion could be limited. Pertaining to innovation, it is established that the main obstacles are related to the limited financial resources as much as the inflexibility for processes execution, the resistant to change and new knowledge generation. Although both organization perceive the existence of incremental and adaptive innovation levels as a strength, which has allowed them to aim for a more efficient operation and in this way to tend to generate responses that adjust the present context.
