- ÍtemExtended Hildebrand solubility approach and Yalkowsky-Roseman model for estimating the solubility of sulfadiazine and sulfamethazine in some {ethylene glycol (1) + water (2)} mixtures at several temperatures(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Facultad de Ingenierías, Ingeniería Civil, Neiva, 2022-02-04) Delgado, Daniel Ricardo; Vargas-Santana, Martha Sofía; Cruz-González, Ana Marías; Cerquera, Nestor; Escobar Rodriguez, Alana Sofía; Cardenas, Rossember E.; Ortiz, Claudia Patricia; Calderón-Losada, Omar; Delgado, Daniel Ricardo; Delgado, DanielAim: extended Hildebrand Solubility Approach (EHSA) and Yalkowsky Roseman (YR) were applied to evaluate the solubility of sulfadiazine, and sulfamethazine in ethylene glycol + water mixtures. Methodology: reported experimental equilibrium solubilities and some fusion properties of these drugs were used for the calculations. Results: a good predictive character of EHSA (with mean deviations lower than 3.0%) were found by using regular polynomials in order two correlating the interaction parameter W with the Hildebrand solubility parameter of solvent mixtures without drug; however, the results obtained from YR model show relatively high deviations greater than 50%.
- ÍtemEstrés académico en estudiantes del programa de formación complementaria de la Normal Superior Santa Clara de Almaguer, para el segundo semestre año 2022(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Facultad de Ciencias Sociales, Psicología, Popayán, 2023-03-03) Meneses Paz, Leidy Marcela; Muñoz Hoyos, Dary Liney; López Guzmán, Jorge AlbertoIt is important to emphasize that academic stress is one of the health problems that currently has a direct impact on a large part of the student community, since the human being is linked and understood by mind and body (for some theorists, also by spirit); This conglomeration is subjected by different intrinsic external and internal factors and the various activities of daily life during its development. For this reason, the objective was to characterize situations that cause academic stress in students of the Complementary Training Program of the Normal Superior Santa Clara de Almaguer for the second semester of the year 2022. In the same way, during the methodological development, a quantitative component "SISCO Inventory of Academic Stress" is used, which was applied through the online survey where the population under study is 32 women and 9 men aged 18 to 27. years that belong to said program, allowing to investigate the main stressors, reactions and coping with certain experiences of the academic context throwing factors of tension, overwhelm, restlessness and fatigue, clear signs of stress; because as age increases, almost by a direct proportionality relationship, responsibilities increase significantly in psychological and physical reactions such as: anguish, worries and situations that lead to episodes of anxiety, restlessness, excessive sleep, disorders food, among others. Likewise, it was necessary to carry out a bibliographic review of scientific articles that contributed significantly to the dynamic construction of the document.
- ÍtemComponentes ponderales en la cachama blanca (Piaractus brachypomus) (Cuvier, 1818) (Teleostei: Characidae) en la sabana inundable de Arauca, Colombia(Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2023-02-27) Parés-Casanova, Pere Miquel; Salamanca Carreño, Arcesio; Bentez Molano, Jannet; Crosby Granados, René AlejandroThe aim of this study was to estimate the allometric parameters of different parts of pirapitinga (Piaractus brachypomus), as well as to establish if the growth of these components is allometric or isometric. In total, 60 specimens collected at random from a farm in Arauca (Colombia) were used. Live weights, carcass weights and weights of scales, viscera and gills were determined. Three algorithms were tested to quantify the relationships between live body weight and each of the components: Ordinary Least Squares, Reduced Major Axis, and Major Axis. The data were logarithmically transformed in order to fit the equations to the allometric function y=10bxa, where y represents the body component in question and x is the independent associated variable. The three methods provided regression coefficients that are, from a theoretical point of view, different, thus providing different estimates of the same quantity. The Ordinary Least Squares algorithm, with the minimum slope, would appear to be the model that best fits the real allometric behavior of this species.
- ÍtemApplication of Probability Theory and S/K Proportions to Diagnose Cardiotocography in 20 Minutes(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2021-05-22) Villamizar Osorio, Magda Liliana; Páez Páez, Jaime AlbertoIn this paper, it was wanted to verify the clinical applicability of a physical-mathematical methodology developed in the context of probability theory and entropy S/k proportions to evaluate antepartum cardiotocography in 20 minutes. For this, 100 cardiotocography records were collected from women in the last trimester of gestation, the values of the minimum and maximum fetal heart rate were taken for 10 seconds, the number of repetitions of each frequency, the values of its probability and the values of the S/k proportions. To verify the diagnostic capacity of the methodology, the sensitivity, specificity, and the Kappa coefficient of the physical-mathematical method were calculated with respect to the clinical gold standard by means of a blind study. It was found for the reactive tracings, values of the S/k proportions between -1.9603 to -1.7125 were obtained, while for the non-reactive traces these values ranged from -2.3838 to -1.0576. The sensitivity and specificity values were 100% and the Kappa coefficient was 1. Thus, it was concluded that the clinical applicability of a physical-mathematical methodology that can diagnose reactive from non-reactive cardiotocography traces in 20 minutes was verified, suggesting its diagnostic utility in real time
- ÍtemPhysical and mathematical evaluation of fetal cardiotocography using a methodology based on probability and entropy(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2021-06-04) Villamizar, Magda Liliana Villamizar Osorio; Páez Páez, Jaime AlbertoAbstract—the behavior of fetal heart rate in antepartum cardiotocography traces has been evaluated using a methodology based on the theory of probability and entropy, with which it is possible to quantify how much far away is the abnormal fetal heart rate from normal. Objective: to confirm through a blind study the clinical applicability of a mathematical diagnosis based on probability and the entropy S/k ratio designed to evaluate the cardiotocographic tracing. Methodology: 90 cardiotocographic tracings were taken with a duration of 20 minutes. Then, the frequency of occurrence of the maximum and minimum values of the fetal heart rate was calculated in 10-second intervals. Subsequently, the probability and the S/k ratio of each trace were evaluated. Finally, a mathematical diagnosis was obtained to distinguish normal from abnormal fetal cardiac dynamics. Results: the values of the S/k ratio for the reactive traces varied between -1.9415 to -1.7170 and between -2.3152 and -1.2789 for the non-reactive ones, respectively. Sensitivity and specificity values were both 100% for diagnosing normality and disease with a Kappa coefficient of one. Conclusion: the clinical applicability of the diagnostic parameters of the physical-mathematical methodology was confirmed, by differentiating normal from abnormal states in groups of cardiotocography traces in 20 minutes.

- ÍtemConstructing territorial development with local actors: dairy producers and their relationship with university knowledge(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bogotá, programa de Economía, 2021-06-10) Llanez Anaya, Helmer FernandoThis article presents a case study on how dairy producers and a university are connected to generate territorial development in a municipality. The field of study along with in-depth semi-structured interviews showed that university knowledge reaches dairy farmers through weak ties and imitating production processes. This relationship makes it possible to show that the knowledge produced in academia reaches producers, even though there is no deliberate plan to bring these two local development actors together. This case study allows us to better understand local actors and the manner in which they can generate development in an area.
- ÍtemRelationship of Physiographic Position to Physicochemical Characteristics of Soils of the Flooded-Savannah Agroecosystem, Colombia.(Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2023-01-16) Salamanca - Carreño, Arcesio; Vélez-Terranova, Mauricio; Vargas-Corzo, Oscar Mauricio; Pérez-López, Otoniel; Castillo-Pérez, Andrés Fernando; Parés-Casanova, Pere M.Savannah floodplains are a natural agroecosystem located in the eastern plains of Colombia, with soils considered to be of low fertility. This assumption has not been rigorously validated by direct experimental studies. The aim of the study was to analyze the soils’ physicochemical characteristics of the “banks” and “lows”, which are physiographic positions, from the floodplain savannah in Arauca, Colombia. Soil samples were collected in “low” (n = 14) and “bank” (n = 15) physiographic positions. For each soil sample, the following chemical variables were determined: pH, organic carbon (OC), total nitrogen (TN), P, K, Ca, Mg, Na, exchange acidity, cation-exchange capacity (CEC), Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn and B, and physical variable (texture). The Wilcoxon non-parametric test (Mann–Whitney) was applied for the comparison of the soil’s physicochemical variables in each physiographic position (p < 0.05). The highest values for each variable analyzed correspond to the physiographic position of “low” (p < 0.05). The pH, T.N., Na, K and B were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). The physiographic positions of “bank” and “low” of floodplain savannah presented low levels of most nutrients, with slightly higher values in the “low” physiographic position. Corrective measures must be applied to improve the nutritional values of savannah soils and, consequently, the productivity of native forages. Despite these deficiencies, the vegetation cover is given by very well-adapted native grasses, reflecting the conditions of said agroecosystem.
- ÍtemSimulation of different biorefinery configuration including environmental, technical and economic assay using sugarcane bagasse(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, campus Pasto. Ingeniería Industrial, 2021) Coral Medina, Jesús David; Bolaños Alomia, Fabio; Magalhaes, Antonio; Julio, de Carvalho; Adenise, Woiciechowski; Carlos, SoccolDue to growing environmental concerns mainly related to non-renewable fuels and high added-value chemicals, new solutions should reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Biorefineries, which use lignocellulosic biomass as raw material, emerges as a promising alternative to replace fossil fuels and to avoid competition between food and fuel production for arable land and drinking water. Sugarcane is one of the most harvested crops in the world, mainly in the equatorial zone. One tonne of processed cane generates between 300 and 400 kg of bagasse. This work proposes a biorefinery configuration for the co-production of ethanol, xylitol, lignin, and cellulose acetate, analyzing two different scenarios in the context of low sugarcane availability. The analysis included the deter- mination of mass, total capital investment, total manufacturing costs, CO2 footprint, and water consumption. The cellulose acetate, ethanol, and xylitol production were economically viable only if lignin is considered a product. Positive net income, with return on investment in at least ten years, was achieved. Based on the environmental assessment, the carbon capture capacity is about 400 kg per tonne of sugarcane included in the process was determined
