The purpose of this work was to identify the causes of school drop-out at the General Departmental College Santander, San Benito de Sibaté Headquarters, in children and adolescents in grades 5 from elementary to 11th grade; being a descriptive investigation where 45 students of different grades were taken as a sample, using as a tool a survey and a life project workshop. Different aspects of school drop-out were analyzed according to what was described by authors such as Salvador Cardona, Espinoza, Castillo, Donoso, Lilia Pérez, Camiso among Others who perform their analysis on school drop-out not only at the National level but worldwide; data and studies carried out by the UN, Ministry of National Education, UNICEF, the same government of Cundinamarca, who have investigated and analyzed what are the causes that affect educational institutions and cause school dropouts are also taken. Once these aspects that affect classrooms have been identified and analyzed, it was concluded that drop-out occurs, according to analysis in our research that what most affects class dropout is related to the socio-economic environment of children and adolescents, as well as , family problems, bulling, and lack of encouragement by the teacher at the time of teaching and listening to students.
The general recommendation to managers and teachers is to support their students more through psychological talks, workshops and share experiences with them so that when heard they can identify the real causes of dropout.
