- ÍtemAdaptation and measurement invariance by gender of the Flourishing Scale in a Colombian sample(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2021-03-06) Martín-Carbonell, Marta de la Caridad; Espejo, B; Checa, I; Fernández-Daza, MThere is increasing interest in the study of flourishing as an indicator of subjective wellbeing. The objective herein was to adapt and study the psychometric properties of Diener’s Flourishing Scale (FS) among the Colombian population. Accordingly, a cross-sectional study was conducted with a non-probability sample of 1255 Colombian adults. The scale’s structure, invariance by gender, and convergent and concurrent validity were studied from a confirmatory perspective using structural equation models. The confirmatory factor analysis showed excellent fit indicators for the one-dimensional structure (CFI = 0.985, RMSEA = 0.039, SRMR = 0.020) as well as for the convergent (CFI = 0.909, RMSEA = 0.050, SRMR = 0.063) and concurrent (CFI = 0.966, RMSEA = 0.036, SRMR = 0.041) validity models. The correlations calculated among flourishing with positive and negative effects (PANAS), satisfaction with life (SWL), and optimism and pessimism (LOT) were statistically significant and as expected. Configural, metric, and scalar invariance across gender was confirmed. Percentiles were provided for the total score. The FS scale was a valid and reliable measure to assess high levels of wellbeing among the Colombian population.
- ÍtemAdaptation and Psychometric Properties of the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) in the General Colombian Population(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2021-04-06) Martín-Carbonell, Marta de la Caridad; Espejo, B; Ferández-Daza, M; Paternina, Y; Checa, I(1) Background: Diener’s Scale of Positive and Negative Experiences (SPANE) assesses the presence and intensity of positive and negative affects, since these are considered basic aspects of the study of well-being. This article studies its psychometric properties in the general Colombian population. (2) We conducted a cross-sectional study of a sample of 1255 Colombians and we used structural equation modeling to confirm the bifactor structure. Additionally, we studied invariance by gender, and convergent and concurrent validity. (3) We found acceptable fit indicators for the bifactor model (CFI = 0.889, RMSEA = 0.046, SRMR = 0.059) as well as for the convergent (CFI = 0.909, RMSEA = 0.050, SRMR = 0.063) and concurrent (CFI = 0.966, RMSEA = 0.036, SRMR = 0.041) validity models. We did not confirm total invariance across gender, although we found configural and metric invariance, so percentiles by sex were provided. (4) Conclusions: The SPANE is a valid and reliable measure to assess well-being among the Colombian population, although we alert researchers to the risk of comparing affectivity average scores between sexes.
- ÍtemAFECTACIONES DE LAS DIMENSIONES HUMANAS EN UN GRUPO DE MUJERES TRANSGENERO EN EL BARRIO LA AURORA DE BUCARAMANGA(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bucaramanga , Psicología., 2022-05-24) Castro, Mayra A.; Castro, Jeimy C.; Guarìn, Juan J; Ruíz, Sandra M.
- ÍtemAutomedicación en estudiantes de la Sede Neiva de la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Facultad de Ciencias Sociales, Psicología, Neiva, 2019-01-01) Rubiano-Daza, Henry; Ortiz, Claudia Patricia; Delgado, Daniel Ricardo; Calderón Ospina, Carlos Alberto; García Rojas, Claudia Lorena; Fúnez David, Oscar David; Ortiz, Claudia Patricia; Rubiano Daza, HenrySelf-medication is a dangerous practice with consequences including masking of disease, adverse reactions to medications, drug interaction, resistance to certain types of therapeutic agents and drug dependence. The World Health Organiza-tion has considered the possibility of educating population in practices of respon-sible self-medication, pointing at the pharmacist as a key figure in this educational process. In the present work we have analyzed the self-medication conducts of 600 surveyed college students of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia Sede Neiva (UCC). The overall results of the survey have been analyzed; we have also divided the surveyed population in subgroups of: a) Academic program and b) Sociodemo-graphic variables. Results indicate that self-medication is a common practice among college students of UCC, and that it is not always practiced according to WHO recommendations for responsible, safe self-medication.
A; Ortiz, Claudia Patricia; Hoyos Armero, Diana Patricia; Quintero Quimbaya, Juan Camilo; Ortiz, Claudia PatriciaThis study investigates the existing knowledge of covid-19 among both genders and a likely use of it in practice to combat COVID-19. Cross sectional study with an online survey and data was collected from Colombia, through a structured, self-design validated questionnaire was created based on the World Health Organiza-tion (WHO) general public advice towards COVID-19 prevention. This study has employed snow-ball sampling technique, counted on 445 participants (46.5% male and 53.5% female). This study has found out that women not only carry better knowledge, but their practicing behavior is far better than their male counterparts. Although the results between men and women are very similar, the question about staying at home is quite conclusive in favor of women, who are more responsible. Finally his study proves that women are on a less risk in comparison to men on the basis of prevention practices exercised better as the prevailing statistics indicate. This study highlighted the notion further that women are less conducive to infection of COVID-19 due to their better practicing behavior than men
- ÍtemCubrimiento del posacuerdo colombiano en medios regionales en el contexto multimedial(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Facultad de Ciencias Sociales, Psicología, Neiva, 2021-12) Rubiano-Daza, Henry; Chirinos-Araque, Yamarú, del Valle; Rubiano-Daza, HenryThe purpose of the study is to analyze the news coverage of the Colombian Post-Agreement in the regional media in the multimedia context. Methodologically, the research is approached from the qualitative paradigm with an analytical-hermeneutic approach; 20 key informants were involved, including journalists and managers of the region, through a Focus Group, by means of an interview with open questions to collect data; the interpretative analysis was carried out with the help of ATLAS/ti software. The results indicate that the regional press has been pressured by users to reconfigure their news agendas, because they express more interest in current issues and trends in social networks, which is why the media show a low participation in the news regarding the Post-Agreement. It is concluded, that the media are obliged to communicate the progress of this topic, even when users are tired of violence and reject this news by linking the FARC with drug trafficking and the National Government with corruption. In view of this situation, the scientific community is invited to develop academic projects and lines of research that express to the regional press the need to schedule significant, contextualized, transcendent and inclusive news such as the Colombian Post-Agreement.
- ÍtemDevelopment and Exploration of Psychometric Properties of the Family Adjustment Questionnaire for Admitting an Older Adult to a Nursing Home (CAFIAR)(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2020-09-03) Martín-Carbonell, Marta de la Caridad; Riquelme-Marín, A; Ortigosa, JM; Méndez, IBackground: Admitting an older adult to a nursing home involves significant adjustment efforts by the family. Our goal was to prepare an assessment instrument for this, given that there was none to date. Method: Participants—134 relatives from different nursing homes in the region of Murcia. Instruments—structured interview for socio-demographic information, satisfaction with the nursing home, well-being and health self-assessment, Radloff’s Depression Questionnaire (CES-D), and the first version of CAFIAR. Results: A 15-item instrument with three factors was obtained: Factor 1 (Unease due to admitting an older adult to a nursing home), Factor 2 (Relief), and Factor 3 (Nostalgia and concern for the older adult), in addition to a general adjustment index, with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.74. The general adjustment index and the subscales that demonstrate poor adjustment were significantly correlated with depression and a worse health self-assessment, while the Relief subscale, which indicates better adjustment, was significantly correlated with well-being and a positive health self-assessment. Conclusions: The family adjustment in admitting an older adult to a nursing home questionnaire (CAFIAR) has adequate psychometric properties to assess family adaptation in admitting an older adult to an institution.
- ÍtemEstado del arte en la investigación de factores psicosociales en el dolor osteomuscular en adultos mayores(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2021-01-22) Martín-Carbonell, Marta de la Caridad; Pérez-Díaz, Raquel; Cerquera, Ara; Uribe, Ana; Vera, HernánIntroduction: The psychological approach to musculoskeletal pain (OM) associated with rheumatic diseases has produced a considerable amount of literature referring to the effects it has on the emotional and social behavior of patients. Not only do many chronic OM pain problems have their primary origin in psychosocial factors, but these have a decisive influence on their evolution, either positively or negatively. Studying this topic in the elderly increases its importance because this population is the one that suffers most from OM pain problems and paradoxically, they do not receive quality treatment because in many cultures they are considered to be "normal" in aging. Objective: Present an update on the state of the art of research on the subject, with emphasis on the Ibero-American contributions.Method: Narrative review of publications from 2000 to 2018 in journals, books and conference proceedings available in full text. Results: The main lines of research, their fundamental results and the main problems and challenges are discussed. Conclusion: Research on the subject is incipient and insufficient, with a predominance of publications in English and North American authors. Some recommendations are established.
- ÍtemEstrés académico en estudiantes del programa de formación complementaria de la Normal Superior Santa Clara de Almaguer, para el segundo semestre año 2022(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Facultad de Ciencias Sociales, Psicología, Popayán, 2023-03-03) Meneses Paz, Leidy Marcela; Muñoz Hoyos, Dary Liney; López Guzmán, Jorge AlbertoIt is important to emphasize that academic stress is one of the health problems that currently has a direct impact on a large part of the student community, since the human being is linked and understood by mind and body (for some theorists, also by spirit); This conglomeration is subjected by different intrinsic external and internal factors and the various activities of daily life during its development. For this reason, the objective was to characterize situations that cause academic stress in students of the Complementary Training Program of the Normal Superior Santa Clara de Almaguer for the second semester of the year 2022. In the same way, during the methodological development, a quantitative component "SISCO Inventory of Academic Stress" is used, which was applied through the online survey where the population under study is 32 women and 9 men aged 18 to 27. years that belong to said program, allowing to investigate the main stressors, reactions and coping with certain experiences of the academic context throwing factors of tension, overwhelm, restlessness and fatigue, clear signs of stress; because as age increases, almost by a direct proportionality relationship, responsibilities increase significantly in psychological and physical reactions such as: anguish, worries and situations that lead to episodes of anxiety, restlessness, excessive sleep, disorders food, among others. Likewise, it was necessary to carry out a bibliographic review of scientific articles that contributed significantly to the dynamic construction of the document.
- ÍtemExploring the Psychometric Properties of the Questionnaire on Family Members Adapting to an Older Adult’s Admission to a Nursing Home (CAFIAR-15) in a Colombian Sample(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2021-12-23) Martín-Carbonell, Marta de la Caridad; Riquelme-Martín, Antonio; Fernández-Daza, Martha; Ortigosa-Quiles, Juan M; Méndez-Mateo, InmaculadaInstitutionalization to a nursing home can be one of the most significant and traumatic events in a senior’s life, and for their family. For this reason, it is especially important to have validated instruments that evaluate the family member’s adaptation to admitting the senior to a nursing home. The study included 139 family members recruited equally in two types of institutions (low-income nursing home (LINH) vs. high-income nursing home (HINH)). A sociodemographic questionnaire with questions to study antecedents and conditions for care and the Questionnaire for Admitting an Older Adult to a Nursing Home (CAFIAR-15) were used. Examining the communalities indicated that four of the five items in factor 3 presented communalities lower than 0.30 and differences in the factorial structure of the CAFIAR-15 were found. There were differences in the antecedents and conditions for care between the relatives of the older adults at LINH and HINH. Cultural differences and differences between LINH and HINH may be the basis for flaws in the conceptual validity of the CAFIAR-15 in the Colombian sample.

- ÍtemLearning and Teaching Styles in a Public School with a Focus on Renewable Energies(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Facultad de Ingenierías, Ingeniería Civil, Medellín y Envigado, 2022-11-22) Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia; Colmenares Quintero, Ramón Fernando; Barbosa Granado, Sergio; Rojas, Natalia; Stansfield, Kim; Colmenares Quintero, Juan Carlos; Ruiz Candamil, Manuela; Cano Perdomo, PedroThe purpose of this study is to identify teaching styles (TS) and learning styles (LS) in teachers and students in public schools with a focus on renewable energies, with the aim of designing and applying curricular strategies based on active learning in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the same way, it seeks to determine the differences related between TS and LS. The research was developed with a quantitative methodology and a correlational descriptive approach. In addition, a non-experimental, cross-sectional design was used and an intentional non-probabilistic sampling of 125 students and 20 professors from the Maria Inmaculada School of the municipality of Puerto Carreño, Colombia. The results indicate that there is no significant difference between TS and LS. However, it was identified that students prefer a reflective teaching methodology (M = 15.5, SD = 0.75) followed by the active style (M = 14.2, SD = 1.10) and, to a lesser extent, the pragmatic style (M = 11.4, SD = 1.19). In the case of teachers, the most used teaching style is also reflective (M = 25.7, SD = 1.02), followed by individualized (M = 20.1, SD = 0.56) and, to a lesser extent, inquiry (M = 5.3, SD = 1.10). This research allows the generating of new knowledge that contributes to improving educational processes in the school population with a focus on renewable energies, enabling the promotion of strategies towards a sustainable society.
- ÍtemMeasurement Invariance of the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience Across 13 Countries(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2021-06-09) Martín-Carbonell, Marta de la CaridadThe Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) is widely used to measure emotional experiences, but not much is known about its cross-cultural utility. The present study evaluated the measurement invariance of the SPANE across adult samples (N = 12,635; age range = 18-85 years; 58.2% female) from 13 countries (China, Colombia, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, and the United States). Configural and partial scalar invariance of the SPANE were supported. Three items capturing specific negative emotions (sad, afraid, and angry) were found to be culturally noninvariant. Our findings suggest that the SPANE’s positive emotion terms and general negative emotion terms (e.g., negative and unpleasant) might be more suitable for cross-cultural studies on emotions and well-being, whereas caution is needed when comparing countries using the SPANE’s specific negative emotion items.
- ÍtemPerceived stress and coping strategies during the COVID-19 lockdown in five countries(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2023-04-24) Bedoya Cardona, Erika Yohanna; Pereira Moreno, Lady Johanna; Bedoya Cardona, Erika Yohanna; Pereira Moreno, Lady Johanna; Popa, Ioana; Morandi, Anna; Molina Fernández, Antonio; Hansen Rodríguez, Gisela; Filgueiras, Alberto; Hernández Montaño, Alicia; González Tovar, José; Vilagra Ruiz, Raul; Pinto Marques, Mauricio; Bueno Castellanos, Claudia; Montomoli, Cristina; Bedoya Cardona, Erika YohannaSeveral studies have shown how mental health could be affected during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led us to wonder about the psychological impact that the initial period of lockdown could have. We conducted a multicentric study that sought to describe, compare, and analyze the association between perceived stress, coping strategies and sociodemographic characteristics in a snowball-style convenience sample of 1169 participants from Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, and Spain who responded to an online survey. There were differences in perceived stress and coping strategies between countries and depending on sociodemographic characteristics. The variables positively associated with perceived stress were the coping strategies alcohol-drug use, focus on emotions and venting, being a woman, and living in Brazil, Italy, and Spain. The variables negatively associated with perceived stress were planning and active coping, positive reinterpretation, being over 45 years old, and being a worker. These results contribute to understanding the stress responses to lockdown and help identify vulnerability factors in order to design prevention and intervention programs.
- ÍtemPsychological effects of confinement due to COVID-19 pandemic in a sample in addiction treatment in Spain(Facultad de Psicología, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Colombia, 2022-02-28) Bedoya Cardona, Erika Yohanna; Bedoya Cardona, Erika Yohanna; Hansen Rodríguez, Gisela; Molina Fernández, Antonio; Bedoya Cardona, Erika YohannaObjectives: Describe, compare and identify the relationship among perceived stress, coping strategies and emotional regulation, the impact of confinement, psychological distress, hopelessness, and suicidality. Method: Online administration of the PSS, COPE, ERQ, IES-R, SCL-90-R, BHS, and Okasha Suicide Scale questionnaires to 35 adults in addiction treatment, 24 men (68.67%) and 11 women (31.43%), aged 24 to 61 years (mean = 42.8; SD = 10.1) selected by non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Results: There are high scores in the strategies aimed at emotional regulation, average scores in passive coping strategies and hopelessness, and low scores in the other variables. There are differences by gender, educational level, group of cohabitants, and type of treatment resource. The first multivariate model includes a positive association of perceived stress with anxiety and treatment in the detoxification unit, and a negative association with phobic anxiety. The second model includes positive associations of the impact of the event with planning, abandonment of efforts, personal growth and hopelessness, and negative relationship with positive reinterpretation. Conclusions: Although confinement has increased addictive behaviors worldwide, receiving psychotherapeutic support is a protective factor in mental health.
- ÍtemRespuestas psicológicas a la cuarentena por pandemia de COVID-19 en población colombiana(Facultad de Psicología, Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Bucaramanga, Colombia, 2022-08-08) Bedoya Cardona, Erika Yohanna; Pereira Moreno, Lady Johanna; Bedoya Cardona, Erika Yohanna; Arboleda Gil, María Camila; Durango Gallo, Cristian Yesid; Hernández Torres, Laura; López López, Juliana; Osorio Ruiz, Diana Carolina; Pereira Moreno, Lady Johanna; Bedoya Cardona, Erika YohannaIntroduction: The aim of this study was to analyze the perceived stress, coping strategies, emotional regulation, impact of the event, and psychological distress during quarantine due to COVID-19 pandemic in the Colombian population. Method: Non-probabilistic sample made up of 356 adults who answered an online questionnaire. Results: It was found medium and high scores in active coping strategies and emotional regulation, and low scores in stress, psychological distress and impact of quarantine. The 38.76 % presented scores that indicate risk of post-traumatic stress disorder. Women, people under 35 years of age, high school graduates, students, and living alone during the quarantine showed higher affectation. Statistically significant correlations of stress with all variables except with social support and cohabitants during quarantine were found. Finally, it was found a positive association of stress with venting, expressive suppression, the impact of quarantine, and psychological distress, and negative association with planning, acceptance, cognitive reappraisal, and age over 25 years. Conclusions: These results contribute to understanding responses to quarantine and to identify vulnerability factors to design prevention and intervention programs.
- ÍtemTrabajo digno y decente, derrota social y suicidalidad en población colombiana(Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, 2023-03-02) Bedoya Cardona, Erika Yohanna; Montoya Agudelo, Cesar Alveiro; Garzón Correa, Camilo Andrés; Montoya Agudelo, Cesar Alveiro; Garzón Correa, Camilo Andrés; Bedoya Cardona, Erika Yohanna; Bedoya Cardona, Erika BedoyaThe World Health Organization defines health as a state of well-being that allows to face stress, work productively and contribute to the community; but annually it reports high affectation to health in the workplace. The objective of the study is to describe the relationship between decent work indicators, social defeat and suicide in the Colombian population. The results indicate that a large part of the participants has access to education, employment, social security, high perception of opportunities, contribution to society, possibility of improvement in quality of life, low perception of social defeat and risk of suicide. However, few have an indefinite term contract, time for sports or recreational activities, consider insufficient wages for quality of life, have no space for dialogue on working conditions, and have been victims or witnesses of mobbing. There was a relationship between social defeat and suicide with work or academic situation, insufficient salary for quality of life, not having space for dialogue and discussion of conditions and work activities, and having been a victim or witness of mobbing or other situation of labor abuse.
