Resumen
The paper cones are used to remove moisture after biomechanical preparation. Therefore, it is the last material introduced in the duct before making the seal and hence the importance that the paper cones are free of microorganisms at the time of use. For this study, a significant sample of paper cones was collected by means of a representative sample of students enrolled in the preclinical model by competencies and in clinics of adult 2, 3 and 4. Subsequently the cones were placed in saline solution. to release the microorganisms present and incubated on blood agar, under conditions of anaerobiosis for 5 days. In this study it was determined that there are facultative anaerobic bacteria in the paper cones used by the dental students of the Cooperativa de Colombia University, Villavicencio headquarters, allowing to define the necessity of the establishment of sterilization and storage protocols, to improve the quality in the protocols.
