In Colombia within the legal norms established nationwide in January 2006 the law 1014 "promoting the culture of entrepreneurship" decreeing states, education should incorporate into their theoretical and practical training, the most advanced science and the art to which the student is able to create his own company, this law aims to promote entrepreneurship in all educational institutions of the country. The main objective of this research is to characterize the entrepreneurial behavior of students of the faculty of psychology at the Cooperative University of Colombia in Villavicencio, in compliance with the law 1014 and functions related to entrepreneurship unit of the institution, using the CCE test known as "characteristics of entrepreneurial behavior," designed by the United Nations Organization through EMPRETEC. This test is based on the theory David McClelland needs related to the momentum that people have to succeed. The descriptive quantitative methodology to characterize the entrepreneurial behavior of people according to 10 factors associated with needs for achievement, affiliation and power. Among the results of this this research found that 86% of the participant population are women and the remaining 14% are men, as for the analysis of factors evaluating the test was possible to find that the highest average for total of the population earned factor set goals which shows that in this population is important to set goals to develop and the lowest obtained factor systematic planning and monitoring is that people give little importance to planning activities to be developed to fulfill the purposes and also found that there are very marked differences but not as to the mean of each factor in relation to socioeconomic variables considered for this study.
