Resumen
According to Alcaldia Mayor de Bogotá (2013) as stipulated in Lineamiento pedagógico y curricular para la educación inicial en el Distrito, preschool play is considered a pillar because it is a fundamental activity for the development of the human being, for this is so important to allow the child to learn through him. Thus, the project “Development of logical mathematical competences through the approach to chess in Transition´s children ”, focuses on the implementation of the pedagogical strategy, "My first master moves", based on the approach to chess with the purpose of assessing the contribution to the logical mathematical competences in the children of the transition degree; for which, a documentary review of different theses was carried out in order to identify some investigations about the subject that occupies us and to take from them important aspects that help to enrich the construction of the strategy. Likewise, a theoretical review based on the four relevant categories for the investigative process and on the main theorists who take up the constructivist pedagogical model was carried out. His research is developed taking into account the qualitative paradigm, with a hermeneutic approach and a type of descriptive research; the techniques used for the collection of information were: participant observation, survey by sampling, use of documents, observation sheet and workshops, from which relevant information was obtained to confirm the relevance of the pedagogical strategy and analyze the results of the implementation. The pedagogical strategy is based on the constructivist pedagogical model and consists of three moments: exploration of knowledge, approach to chess and analysis of results. After the execution of the strategy, it is concluded that the approach to chess from early childhood favors logical mathematical skills in children since it strengthens spatial notions, characterization of objects and unconventional forms of measurement.
