Resumen
This research had as main objective to describe some family and community factors that have enabled the development of leadership and linking to community participation processes in four young people from youth organizations in the district 18 of the city of Santiago de Cali. The research work was done under the framework of the Community Social Psychology given by Montero, (2004), from a constructionist paradigm Gergen, (2013). The methodology was based on a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory approach, to guarantee understanding of social reality and constructions made by these young people, with their own meanings, and the interactions in their families and communities. We found that in the construction that the young people make as leaders, who are linked to their communities’ participation processes influenced on one hand the recognition of their communities and the sense of belonging that young people to their community and secondly influenced the significant that young constructed from family relationships which factors as evidence: support concerning recognition.
