Resumen
Corporate social responsibility is an ethical model that emerges from the private sector, and is proposed for the implementation of prospective commitments of good governance and economic, social and environmental sustainability in the public sector. In this review article, an approach will be made to the application that has social responsibility and its benefits in the public management model of the Colombian State, as a means of directing public policies for sustainable development, within the framework of the project for the conformation of the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga as district. From this, this document is limited to the documentary review of the different academic positions that currently exist in relation to the application of the social responsibility model, both nationally and internationally, with the aim of generating a discussion and a contribution in relation to the improvement of management in the Colombian public sector, based on the proposed creation of the district of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area.
