Resumen
Objective: To identify the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in the nursing personal of Bucaramanga in the second semester of the year 2018. Method: A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out with a small sample of 18 participants among auxiliary and nursing professionals from Bucaramanga, as it was a pilot test. For the collection of information, a socio-demographic and labor data questionnaire prepared by the researchers, and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) instrument were used. The analysis of the data was carried out in the Excel program, where they were grouped to later be expressed in media and fashion, tables with percentage distribution and graphs. Results: In the sample, it was found that in the dimension of emotional exhaustion, 94.4% obtained a low level and 5.6% a medium level; in the dimension of personal fulfillment, 78% obtained a medium level and 22% a low level and in the dimension of depersonalization, 100% obtained a low level. Therefore, 22% of the participants do not have Burnout syndrome, while 78% are at risk of presenting it, with the dimension of personal fulfillment mostly affected. Conclusions: The stress of nursing staff influences the quality of care provided to patients, since the greater the wear and tear of nursing professionals and assistants, the lower the quality of care given to patients; and therefore the essence of the nursing discipline is affected.
